Terms of use

Octacon Trades is a marketplace that connects customers with independent tradespeople. The contract for any work is between the customer and the tradie: we are not the builder, the employer, or a party to the job.

We review licence details that tradies submit for licensed trades before allowing them to quote those jobs, and we display verification badges in good faith. Customers should still sight compliance certificates for licensed work, and can ask for them on the job page.

Quotes, variations and invoices exchanged on the platform are records of the parties' agreement. Customers pay tradies directly using the details on the tradie's invoice.

Reviews may only be left for completed jobs booked through the platform. We remove content that is false, abusive or unrelated to the work performed.

Australian Consumer Law protections apply to work performed by tradies, and nothing in these terms limits rights you have under that law. Victorian domestic building rules, including contract and insurance thresholds, apply to building work regardless of how the parties met.
